Welcome to the Ottawa Jewish Community Volunteer Center! Whether you’re looking for a short or long term commitment, there are opportunities for you. Have a particular skill? Let us know, we’ll help you find a role that is rewarding and enjoyable for you.
Our community would not be the same without the tremendous support of our volunteers. From being a buddy to one of our community members with developmental disabilities, to donating several hours of your time to help an agency’s board redesign their marketing strategy, let us match you to a meaningful opportunity that best suits your needs and interests.
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Rosemarie Skoll has been volunteering for much of her adult life. She is presently volunteering with the Ottawa Jewish Archives. She shares her story with us.
Volunteering is an essential Jewish value. Rabbi Shimon says that there are three pillars that the world rests upon: Torah, Avodah (service), and Gemilut Chasidim (acts of kindness) Pirkei Avot 1:2. Contribute to “Tikkun Olam” and repairing the world, through supporting the community with action.
Fill out a Volunteer Profile to outline your specific volunteer interests, skills and availability, and someone will contact and meet with you to find the perfect fit. We will give you multiple opportunities until you find the most meaningful match.
