Jewish Education through Torah (JET)

JET’s goal is to bring a wide variety of classes, programs, holiday events and more to Jews of all backgrounds. Whatever your interest, or level of knowledge/practice, we want you to feel inspired and connected to Jewish life!

  • JET Shana Tova Magnet Mailing: Volunteer and help us get our mailing ready for delivery (stuffing, sealing, labeling) so that people can receive their candlelighting times magnet, learn more about JET, and get involved! For more information call 613-695-4800 or email info@jetottawa.com

 

  • Mishloach Manot Volunteers: Every year, we send out over 1000 food baskets to help our community celebrate Purim! Volunteers needed to help with the mailing (stuffing, sealing, labeling), packing and sorting 1100+ Mishloach Manot Food baskets! (Sunday before Purim), and driving /delivering Mishloach Manot in one or two neighborhoods around Ottawa (1 - 3 hours of your day).   • JET Event Enhancement Volunteers - we really appreciate when our dedicated community members share their talents! Current needs include: photography, videos, set up and cleanup of events, and help with mailing. Limmud Ottawa

Limmud Ottawa is a day-long festival of Big Tent Jewish learning, arts, culture and spirituality. It is part of a global movement inspired by the idea that when Jews from diverse backgrounds come together to celebrate and learn about everything Jewish, the entire community is enriched.

 

Limmud Ottawa is independent, pluralistic, multigenerational, volunteer run and inspired. It celebrates Jewish diversity and promotes inclusive communal engagement. Limmud is guided by a comprehensive list of values encouraging participation, empowerment, respect, mutual responsibility and religious inclusivity. We are committed to creating unique learning experiences, open to everyone interested in Jewish learning. Limmud is something we do together. Limmud Ottawa will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the SJCC.

Ottawa Chevra Kadisha
