The Jewish Federation of Ottawa is proud to launch the Jewish Educators of Ottawa (JEO) support network, designed to foster a community of Jewish educators who can learn together, support each other, and collaboratively address challenges such as antisemitism in Ontario schools.
About the network
JEO will offer a series of programs throughout winter and spring 2025. These sessions are built in partnership with dedicated lay leaders in our community and aim to provide meaningful opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and support.

Session 2: Engaging strong non-Jewish allies

Kelly has done webinars for Bridges for Peace and the Jewish Heritage Center of Western Canada, regarding the importance of teaching and learning about the Holocaust in secondary schools today.
Session 1: Shockwaves of October 7th – Building Skills to Cope
Speaker: Leanne Matlow, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Counsellor and Educator

This session will focus on strategies to cope with the emotional and educational impacts of events like October 7 on Jewish students and educators.
