The Jewish Federation of Ottawa is proud to announce the launch of the Pan-Canadian Coalition — a groundbreaking, collaborative national funding initiative that unites all Jewish Federations across the country in support of Israel’s recovery. Funded through emergency campaign donations, this multi-year partnership represents months of thoughtful preparation and in-depth field analysis.
Convened and led by Jewish Federations of Canada-UIA, the Coalition will direct $20 million toward Project Regeneration — a strategic initiative focused on revitalizing education in Israel’s Galilee Panhandle. By strengthening academic infrastructure and launching region-wide educational programs, this effort responds directly to what local residents identified as their most urgent concern after security: the quality of education. Enhancing education is not only key to improving quality of life, but also to encouraging families to remain in or return to the region.
With additional matching contributions from the Israeli government, partner organizations, and leading Canadian foundations, the total investment will exceed $40 million. These funds will enable transformative capacity building and innovation through five key grantees:
Tel-Hai College – University on the Rise
Kiryat Shmona Community Centers
Kedma Student Villages
Maoz Educational Leadership Incubator
HaBaita Regional Excellence Centres
The Pan-Canadian Coalition is guided by senior professionals and volunteer leaders from Jewish Federations of Canada-UIA, in collaboration with Federation representatives in Israel, professional leadership across Canada, and Israel Emergency Allocations Committees. Participating Jewish Federations include Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Atlantic Canada, Hamilton, London, Victoria, Windsor, and smaller communities nationwide.
Project Regeneration builds on decades of Canadian Jewish Federations’ philanthropic investment and personal ties to the Galilee Panhandle, particularly through the long-standing Coast-to-Coast Partnership2Gether program, which includes Vancouver, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Halifax.
At its heart, Project Regeneration reflects the deep care and commitment of Canadian Jewry — a united expression through the Federation system to help Israel’s north recover, rebuild, and thrive for generations to come.
We look forward to sharing real-time updates on the powerful impact of this initiative — both for the communities and individuals it touches, and for the funders and partners who continue to join this vital effort.
