Trio Loyko belongs to the elite of the world instrumental music. The trio - two fiddles and a guitar - was established by Sergey Erdenko in 1990 in London. Impressed by the Irish thriving traditional and contemporary music scene, they moved to Ireland and took Dublin by storm. Trio Loyko was based in Dublin for ten years until Sergey’s return home to Russia in 2000.
The Loyko’s repertoire ranges from the traditional classic to the original source Gypsy music of XVIII-XIX centuries. In addition to the instrumental music, Loyko demonstrates the vocal tradition of Russian Gypsies. Their music includes old and modern Gypsy songs, ballads and romances as well as new compositions. Frequent tours, playing in concerts and festivals exposed Loyko to various styles from Celtic to traditional Romanian and Hungarian music. In addition to Loyko’s traditional repertoire, the program will also include original arrangements in klezmer style.
Since its formation, trio Loyko has given over two thousand concerts all over the world on most prestigious stages of Europe and America
