After 50 years of Israeli rule over territories conquered in 1967 has the situation become irreversible or is a two-state solution still doable? This is the question Professor Gershon Shafir tackles in a new book and that will be the subject of his talk at the SJCC Nov. 14, 7:00 PM. Prof. Shafir's book " A Half Century of Occupation: Israel, Palestine and the World's Most Intractable Conflict" will be on sale at the event.

Gershon Shafir is Professor of Sociology at the University of California, San Diego and a former president of the Israel Studies Association. He is the author of a number of books on Israeli politics and society and on human rights.
