Please join us on June 4, 2017 for a morning of mind-blowing ideas and discussion about aging! We know that aging is not for sissies but there is a growing feeling that the positive aspects of aging for those over 55 have been under-valued and that, as a consequence, there has been too great an emphasis on safety and not enough on autonomy.

This mini-conference will be the second event of the Thinking Social Action/Justice: The Next 50 Years series that is part of Temple Israel’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The mini-conference features keynotes speakers, Dominique Dennery, Certified Management Consultant and an inspiring advocate of ‘rebel aging’ and Rabbi S. Robert Morais, Senior Rabbi, Temple Israel Ottawa along with facilitators from Halifax, Montreal and Ottawa. Topics of interest include: Where Will Aging Rebels Live?, Aging Mindfully Not Mindlessly, The Importance of Having a Proper Estate Plan, Sexuality and Aging, Promoting the Potential of Those Over 60,  Adding Meaning Through Volunteering, Judaism and Challenges in Ending Life, Shifting the Picture in Thinking About Aging, Couple Relationships as a Source of Strength Through Life Transition, and How to Navigate the Health Care System.

Seats are limited so register early at https://goo.gl/RU1pUk
Advance tickets are $15 or $20 at the door.
