Sephardi Shabbat
On Saturday, September 10th, 2016, let us - Kehillat Beth Israel - transport you to another time, place, and culture. It begins, in fact, on Thursday evening, September 8th at 7:00 p.m. We invite you to come to 1400 Coldrey and meet in the Dairy Kitchen with Muriel Benlolo, along with dedicated Kehillat volunteers, who will demonstrate the culinary art of Sephardi cooking.
Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat services will be interpreted in the traditional Sephardi melodies dating the pre-Spanish Inquisition.
During Shabbat morning services, we will discover the many different facets of Sephardi tradition; from the variant liturgy to the different styles of Torah reading, and also, to the Ladino and Spanish interpretation in praising Hashem.
Following services, prepare yourselves and your pallet for a culinary delight in the delicious Moroccan traditions. Please join us! Expand your senses and spirituality under the Sephardic tent of Judaism! For more information, please call the office at 613-728-3501 or info@kehillatbethisrael.com by September 8th.
