Richard Marceau, a lawyer and General Counsel and Senior Gov't Advisor for Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, will present a status report on European countries' actions with regards to restitution. Richard sits on the Working Group on Negotiations and Advocacy of the World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO).

Seventy years after the Holocaust, most survivors and their heirs have not been compensated for property confiscated by the Nazis and their collaborators. All the while, many Holocaust victims live in poverty while knowing the property that was stolen from them and their family remains in the hands of governments and private owners.

What are the governments of Eastern Europe and survivors' and Jewish organizations doing to resolve this injustice? Richard will address this unsettling topic.
