Come celebrate Hanukkah with Or Haneshamah, Ottawa’s Reconstructionist congregation! This event is open to the wider community, so feel free to invite family and friends who would like to know more about OrH.

Throughout the evening, there will be activities for children, including dreidel spinning, colouring and stories.

A highlight of the evening is the Annual OrH Latke Competition with prizes, so get your latkes ON! If you’d like to enter, set aside at least three latkes in a heatable container for our judges to evaluate, and be sure to identify them with your name and the word “contest”.

For the latkes and any other potluck contributions, please list all ingredients and let kitchen staff know whether your dish should be served hot or cold.

Start: 5 pm – children’s Chanukah craft activities, dreidel playing and story reading

5:30 pm – Dancing led by Phil Kretzmar

6:15 pm – Pot Luck Dinner
7:00 pm – Candlelighting and Singing
7:30 pm – more of everything – singing, crafts, storytelling, schmoozing
