Chanting, the repetition of a sacred phrase with a beautiful melody, is an ecstatic form of meditation that can open the doors of the hear, inspire healing, clear the mind of clutter and connect us to each other. You don't need to be Jewish or know Hebrew. Lyric sheets are provided. Lorne Mallin has been leading Chanting and Chocolate in Vancouver since 2004. In 2006 he completed a two-year chant leadership training with Rabbi Shefa Gold.
Lorne's chants will be accompanied by drum, guitar and eastern drone instrument.
Attendees are requested to make a minimum donation of $10. Proceeds support Abayudaya Jewish orphans, women and students in Uganda. Abayudaya hand-crafted jewelry and kippot will be for sale.
