Montrealer Dr. Daniel Bernard looks at how films have shaped our understanding of what it is to be Jewish. Observing clips from over a hundred years of film, he will examine how the image of 'the Jew' and 'the Jewess' relate to Jewish experience, and demonstrate the dynamic relationship between the U.S. film industry and the dominant social paradigm of each era of production.
