How big is the moon? How far away is the Sun? What is the distance to Mars? Astronomers answered these questions and more by 1700. In this course, students will learn astronomy the way humanity did, step by step. Students will see how math, applied to observations, allowed us to decode the laws that govern the solar system. This course will be of interest to anyone who likes science, history, or astronomy. While the instructor will do all the math, students are encouraged to use Excel or Google Sheets to do their own calculations. Instructor: Scott Ship
