Sara’s memoir is the personal account of a young generation asked to do the incredible. At 17, still in high school, Sara was called upon to serve in Israel's War of Independence. This book tells that story, connecting the foundational events of those pivotal years, from her birth in the aftermath of the Hebron massacre, to her childhood under the cloud of World War II and Rommel’s March Across Africa and her own experiences in the Battle for Jerusalem and the pivotal Negev Front. More, it is an insightful account into the historic context of Zionism and the world that gave birth to Israel.
“If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget.”
