Job Posting: Integration Aide

Position Summary

The Integration Aide is a 1:1 worker who works directly with children/youth aged 5-15. The Integration Aide is responsible for providing support to children/youth with developmental, emotional, social, learning, and/or behavioural challenges in a day camp setting.

Integration Aides support children to meet individualized goals, thrive, and have an optimal summer experience.

The Integration Aide works under the Keshet Community Connections Supervisor in collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor.

The following is a list of responsibilities for the Integration Aide.

1. Provides a safe and fun environment for the camper.

2. Follows a specific individualized behaviour support/skill acquisition plan to help best support the camper in a variety of environments (home/school/childcare/after-school programs etc).

3. Implements individual programs in an accurate manner to improve: social skills, communication, behaviour management, and life skills (i.e. communicating wants/needs, social play, academics, personal hygiene, peer interactions etc).

4. Manages problem behaviours and takes appropriate data of any incidents. Follows behaviour support plan and uses judgement in new situations that may arise.

5. Collects data based on programming developed by the Clinical Supervisor. Adjusts goals based on input/progress of camper.

6. Assists camper with life skills in areas such as handwashing, dressing, appropriate group participation etc.

7. Collaborates with other employees to ensure the child/youth’s needs and goals are being met.

8. Monitors child’s progress and maintain daily records of program goals. Transmit the records daily to the Keshet Community Connections Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor. Highlights concerns and plays an active role in identifying strengths and weaknesses of the camper.

9. Communicates effectively with parents/caregivers/other professionals about progress and/or challenges. Participates in meetings as scheduled by the Keshet Community Connections Supervisor.

 

Candidate Qualifications

1. Diploma/Degree (or one in progress) in the field of psychology, social work, education, developmental services or related

2. 1 year experience with children/youth, preferably in a group setting.

3. Excellent problem-solving, communication, organization, and multi-tasking abilities.

4. Flexibility and Team Player

5. Microsoft Office/Access to Video-Conferencing software (i.e. zoom, teams).
