We are seeking a creative, tech/social media savvy, resourceful individual with excellent writing skills for the role of Coordinator of Development and Communications. This person will lead the implementation of Tamir’s fundraising development and communications plan with a focus on the annual membership campaign, newsletter publication, grant writing, planned giving initiatives and a variety of special events. Advertising and promotion for these activities, and for the agency itself, are fundamental components of the position.

The Coordinator of Development and Communications will work in collaboration with the Tamir Board of Director’s Fundraising Committee, and other volunteers and staff, under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.

This position is fast paced and requires a candidate who is results-oriented, able to manage multiple projects at the same time, with a keen attention to detail in all areas of their role.

Qualifications and Skills:
 Three years’ experience leading fundraising programs, with an emphasis on membership growth, successful grant writing and planned giving
 Strong background in special event planning and coordination
 Experience in developing and implementing public relations strategies, including use of print, social media and website platforms
 Proficient in website maintenance and development
 Sound knowledge of and experience with project management techniques
 Knowledge in fundraising database software, preferably Raiser’s Edge
 Experience working with volunteers
 Detail oriented with strong problem solving and organizational skills
 Excellent oral and written communication skills
 Given the requirements of the position, may be required to work flexible hours, with occasional evening and weekend hours

An undergraduate degree/diploma preferably in business, marketing, communications or event planning or other related discipline is required.
