Children/Youth Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY
The Children/Youth Supervisor ensures the effective implementation of programming within the Child/Youth department at Tamir. The Children/Youth Supervisor implements behavior skills training and works directly with children/youth. The Children/Youth Supervisor is responsible for collecting data on programs, assisting with trainings/assessments as required, and providing direct client care in 1:1 and group settings. The Children/Youth Supervisor works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to ensure clinical goals are being met for each client and administratively supervised by the Residential Operations Manager.
The following is a list of responsibilities that the Children/Youth Supervisor is responsible for:
1. On-site supervisor for the Child/Youth department at Tamir.
2. Intakes with new clients in the Child/Youth department which may include in-home/remote assessments.
3. Ensuring the successful delivery of programming within the Child/Youth department.
4. HR responsibilities in the areas of staff recruitment, development and retention.
5. Utilizes evidence-based procedures to help reduce maladaptive behaviours and increase appropriate socially significant behaviours.
6. Implements individualized skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
7. Collect and record daily data on programs and observable client behavior.
8. Conducts staff in-vivo training.
9. Assists with caregiver training based on the client’s individual treatment plan.
10. Effectively communicates with parents, caregivers, and others as required regarding client’s progress.
11. Provides a safe environment for the client at all times.
12. Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
13. Assists with assessments, preparation of materials, creating schedules for group programming to ensure effective programming for all children/youth in program, staff scheduling, and other tasks as designated.
14. Assists children/youth with life skills in areas such as toileting, handwashing, dressing, etc.
15. Works directly and indirectly with children/youth in the program.
16. Takes an active role working directly with clients when programs are running to serve as a model for staff.
17. Ensures files, documents, paperwork are up to date.
18. Provides a positive and collaborative working environment for all staff implicated within the program.
19. Takes on rotational on-call responsibilities during both weekdays and weekends, as per the on-call schedule.
Candidate Qualifications
*MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK ON SUNDAYS 8 am – 5 pm, MONDAY 1 pm – 9 pm and TUESDAY 1 pm – 9 pm. THIS IS A NON-NEGOTIABLE*
Opportunity for a flexible work schedule on other days.
1. Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in the field of psychology, education, behaviour analysis.
Preferred: BCBA
2. Minimum of 1 year experience with children/youth in a group or 1:1 setting.
3. Organized, flexible and ability to multi-task
4. Microsoft Office
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Preferred and 0-2 years of experience.
