Location:
Flexible, with a preference for Ottawa or Montreal. CJPAC maintains a hybrid work environment, with some team members working virtually.

Candidate Profile:
CJPAC is seeking a new team member with a growth mindset and great networking skills who takes full ownership of their projects. The ideal candidate will have an interest in, and at least a basic knowledge of, politics, at least 1-2 years of work experience, and strong people skills. A willingness to travel and flexibility around work hours are essential.

Alumni of CJPAC’s programs are a vital part of the CJPAC community and mission.

The Coordinator will be responsible for development, coordination, and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage Alumni. The Alumni Relations Coordinator will initially report to the Managing Director, working closely with CJPAC’s Outreach, Political, and Development Teams.

Skills & Abilities:
Experience in building, implementing, and evaluating engagement programs and events
Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Flexibility and initiative
Experience building and working with budgets
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Desire to grow within the organization
Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
Previous experience working in an alumni relations role is an asset
Vacation: Three weeks per year

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Alumni Relations Coordinator will initially take ownership of the Fellowship Alumni Network, expanding the role to build relationships with Alumni from CJPAC’s other programs and opportunities.

Fellowship Alumni Network:

Engage CJPAC’s 500+ and growing Alumni through 1-1s interactions, events, and mentorship opportunities
Prepare and coordinate the Alumni newsletter
Support the Fellowship Alumni Committee and ensure proper governance
Attend monthly Alumni Committee meetings, plan agenda, and take notes. Follow through with action items from meetings
Plan ongoing touchpoints and learning opportunities for alumni
Plan the annual Alumni Committee retreat
Develop and execute new and innovative ways to improve Alumni engagement
Ensure that Alumni data is up to date
Keep up to date with Alumni on social media, including monitoring posts and actions
Other Responsibilities:

Develop a new Alumni engagement platform to maintain Alumni interest and support
Plan ongoing touchpoints and learning opportunities for Alumni
Collect and interpret Alumni data to serve the CJPAC mission
Support the Political Engagement team to maximize Alumni engagement in political campaigns, expanding CJPAC’s impact in key races across Canada
Work closely with the Outreach and Programming teams to develop and implement long-term engagement plans for program and Alumni Committee support
Work with the Development Team to coordinate and implement fundraising initiatives
Serve as an essential conduit between Alumni, CJPAC staff, and other stakeholders
Support the whole team as needed to plan and execute major events
Other duties as assigned
